Events Content Manager
Digital Catapult is looking for an Events Content Manager to plan and fulfil Digital Catapult’s events with stimulating discussion. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, this is an integral role within the business focused on conceptualising, planning and supporting high profile events that position Digital Catapult staff as key thought leaders and Digital Catapult as a top organisation supporting corporate and startup innovation. Key audience groups also include academics, investors, partners, government and regional contacts. This exciting role will involve suggesting, securing and organising engaging speakers, panels and discussion flows. This role will also identify, secure and support Digital Catapult speakers on key external platforms.

The ideal candidate has ambition and vision to create “unmissable” events with deep discussion on the most advanced digital technologies including 5G, IOT, AI, Immersive (VR/AR) and blockchain, and the manufacturing and creative industries. The right candidate will be eager to build connections and stay up to date with newsworthy topics and discussions to design highly attractive sessions at the Catapult.

Ideally, with an interest in technology and innovation, the post-holder will be a self-starter, a strategic thinker, intellectually curious, confident and capable of executing multiple events, in different formats, for separate audiences. A mix of skills gained from both client-side and venue-side experience is optimal.

This is a role for someone looking to make their mark in the events world and eager to grow in seniority and responsibility. The Events Content Manager will develop strong relationship with contacts in the sector to enable their contribution at events.

The Events Content Manager will work with colleagues to ensure optimised promotion and organisation of events. This role reports to the Director of Marketing, Communications and Events and sits within our integrated Marcomms team. The role does not currently have direct reports but this may develop in time. The role will work extremely closely with our established events operations team.

Digital Catapult runs regular early morning and evening events, these usually take place during the week. This post-holder is expected to regularly attend events outside of normal office hours.
Digital Catapult works with SMEs to help them grow and scale faster. It helps larger corporates in their digital transformation. It does this through programmes of collaboration and open innovation, by bringing academic leading edge expertise into the mix combined with the organisation’s own business and technological expertise.

Digital Catapult carries out applied research and development collaboratively in order to open up new markets for large numbers of SMEs to enter in new and emerging technologies. It achieves this by tackling large-scale digital challenges that are too complex, financially risky or will take too long for market forces alone to deliver.
